Pamporovo

Hi there

Got back from my first ever time skiing this week. After struggling for the initial 3 days of ski school I thoroughly enjoyed it and now have the ski bug.

Hi there

Got back from my first ever time skiing this week. After struggling for the initial 3 days of ski school I thoroughly enjoyed it and now have the ski bug.
We were quite fortunate in the fact we went away with 2 advanced skiers and only went to school for 4 days and the rest of the holiday had one on one with them which really brought us on.
This was also lucky because our group had at least 18 beginners in it with only 1 instructor which made things very drawn out and meant a lot of standing around. But I believe this size of group is very rare.
We stayed at the Hotel Pamporovo which was very nice and the food was OK but a bit repetative.
We also ate at the White Hart and the Italian and were both very nice and great value.
Overall the value for money is exceptional. We paid £500 for HB, flights, ski school and lift passes.
There are petty things I could have a moan about but I won't because as a frequent traveller to the US I have paid more for an economy flight than I did for my week in Bulgaria!!
We obtained our objectives which was to see if we liked skiing and to see if we could do it. Personally I think it's the perfect place to find out.
Next year we will be going to ski in our favourite country of America but Bulgaria has definately put us on the road to many great skiing holidays to come.
