We have just returned from a week in the Hotel Pamporovo- 20th- 27th Dec- first week of the resort being open.
Lots of snow had fallen mid week although was gloriously sunny when we left on Sat.
HAd a range of problems- probably teething problems. 1. A number of power cuts- christmas day no power for eight hours in the evening. 2. poor organisation and communication of events generally 3. chair lifts failing to work properly- being stuck on them for long periods of time stationary ...

A lovely resort. Not much to do if not skiing/snowboarding.
The hotel itself food was poor, ate out most nights. Some lovely Bulgarian restaurants about and very cheap, but don't recommend the Bulgarian Village for food.
Hotel prices for drink a lot more expensive than other hotels and bars.
Would recommend the skidoo ride- excellent experience.
Comments all sound very negative- overall had a really enjoyable holiday.

Hi,I'm also going to Pamporovo for the first time on the 17th and would love to know the best places to eat/drink at. I've got my fingers crossed for lots of snow.

Hi DaveSorry you had such bad experiences, perhaps the power cuts were to blame for the lifts not working properly..
Will you try another Hotel next time or perhaps another area

There were three restaurants which we liked- The White House- ornate wood inside, over 250 wines, waiters very helpful and friendly; Chevermeto- excellent- up into the woods slightly- traditional looking huge log fire where they spit roast whole lambs- we went here for xmas eve on an organised trip with the tour reps( bottle of wine per person and local spirit on arrival) and went back again. Food was again excellent and had a jug of their homemade red wine- lethal!!!

I would recommend all three to try as food, price and atmosphere all excellent.Favouraite was Chevermeto though.
If you prefer english food then you need to go to the White Hart- very cheap for drinks.
Another place that was good value was the place attached to the perilik hotel. Likewise BJ's Bar in this hotel was good.
We would NOT recommend The Bulgarian Village next tothe Murgavets Hotel had to wait ages for food. My chicken was dry and rubbery and the kebab my husband ( dave)had was ok but he was sick later that evening !!!!!
