Hell. Just back from Pamps and wanted to share some info. Plovdiv as it would always seem was very foggy and so we were redirected to Sofia (after a 2.5 hour delay because of problems with the nose of the plane!) We arrived safely in Dublin 5 hours late after dealing with miserable and rude British Midlands staff and a few very badly damaged cases.

On the positive side, pices haven't changed much since last year. Best value is Pizzeria Danmar (walk down past Prespa Hotel, Alaska etc towards ski depot 1 and it's a little chalet type place on right with an ATM outside. 2.50 Lev for a large beer, pizzas better than anywhere else for 5 lev up. Amazin steaks and grills and local food. The chef and waiter are both stars who are honest and great craic. Elsewhere a large beer is normaly 5 lev. PLEASE ask for receipts everywhere as the staff in the Prespa really tried to do us on everything from water to beer - this is getting a lot more common.
The Spider Restaurant at mid-station was very bad. Took 1.5 hours for a little food and then they tried to charge us all a lot more than the menu prices wich he'd given us, saying that his computer said otherwise. We paid only as per menu. Please make sure to keep an eye out for this. Best hot choc and brandy is in the Brothers - about 1/4 of the way down coming off green or red. Prices for it anywhere between 6 and 9 lev. Amazing pancakes from the very nice guy down at the base past the ski depot 2. Ask him for the chocolate and white chocolate on it.
The snow was great. We got a right dump on the Monday - couldn't see in front of us and only got a half day ski but was worth it for the rest of the week. Bit icy in patches - the start of the bottom of the green from mid-station is very ropey as it's packed but so much better than last year. We all got a lot further. Lifts off a lot during the week - ice/rain/maintenance - the usual!
So much fun (and massages) had but after second year in a row and resort staff + some restaurant staff (not at the Pizeria) getting considerably ruder I think we're chancing either Bansko or Austria next year. The instructors and all staff in the boot rooms in ski depot 2 were amazing as always so I don't want to put anyone off. It's an amazing place and still great value.
first winter holiday and it was the greatest fun i have had. the snowboard teacher was a really great bloke. the people are so friendly.
i have never been so tired after a day on the slopes. but what a great feeling.
