Hi - what do you want to know?
It is great for begineers and intermediates and a few reds and blacks to keep the advanced skiers happy for a few days. Snow last year was late arriving but when it came, Feb was great!
Shop around for best restaurant deals and get advice via this forum for where to eat. Town has some great night life and plenty of atmosphere
Providing they get the politics sorted and the piste management right it will be a good season 209-2010

Oh for goodness sake Mikey! I have had some great holidays there - I said that the snow was late arriving and that was the only thing that spoilt our holiday in Jan - the rest was great. People who post negative things about Pamporovo don't get their posts deleted, only people who deliberately try and cause trouble and s***stir.
Ask me any question about Pamporovo and I'll tell the truth to the best of my knowledge.
Hi Ihunal,
I've skiied in Pamporovo many times over the years and I've always been lucky with the snow conditions. When there is plenty of snow there are very few resorts as pretty as Pamporovo all the runs carve down through beautiful pine forests and for that reason it is very sheltered. I've skiied in Austria, Italy, Andora and France and I think Pamporovo is more beautiful than any of the resorts I've been to. I've skiied in Austria, Italy, Andora and France and I think Pamporovo is more beautiful than any of the resorts I've been to. I'm 46 and my wife and I go skiing with our 3 children so I'm not looking for loads of black runs! I enjoy and occasional black run, there are only 2 in Pamporovo that I know of, but I am happiest on a nice red run and there are several nice red runs in Pamporovo. In my younger days I would probably have been quickly bored in Pamporovo but for me now there in ample skiing.
What kind of accomodation are you after? Apartment or Hotel? There is every standard available.
Regards,
Jim.
we chose pomperova last year to learn to ski and i can honestly say it was awesome, they say there ski school has been awarded the best ski school in europe for a number of years and can honestly believe it. me and the girlfriend could both ski confidently by mid week. pomporova itself was very spread out and we found it didnt have to much nightlife but we was stuck in a boring hotel. the ski runs were great tho and very beautifull. this year were going to try borovets because it has more ...

A vetran skier of france america austria italy for the last 25years and enduring the biting cold weather, I decided to go to bulgaria skiing and enjoy some sun for a change whilst skiing.
I liked skiing in Pamporovo so much My brother in law and I bought a house just outside in Momchilovtsi it sleeps 10 people and was much cheaper than France. If we had bought the same house in france that we had built in bulgaria it would have cost us 1.5 million pounds. A good place to invest we thought ...

If we had bought the same house in france that we had built in bulgaria it would have cost us 1.5 million pounds. A good place to invest we thought (and no I not a builder or a salesman for bulgarian houses) I run a video company in the UK. Now let me tell you about Pamporovo.
Pamporovo is brilliant for skiing I have taught 4 people to ski there. Nearly all the runs look like a photo shoot you would see in a magazine.
Last year we went skiing in the second week of April it was the last week of the season and it was gorgeous loads of sun and snow.
There are some great slopes and they are building more all the time. The new perolict project will join up Pamporovo Momchilovtsi and another resort making 240 kilometres of wonderful Ski Runs
A new lift was put in last year the new style covered four man chair coming up from 2 new blue runs both 7 kilometres in length.
The mid station has 3 or 4 amazing bar restaurants great for a lunch time snack that will cost no more than 15.00 for four of you with drinks.
my favourite
piliski hapki chicken bites
perzenni cartofi chips with white cheese
and shropska salad ( i may not have spelt these correctly but if you remember them and say them as they are written you will love the food and the banter from the staff.
a new motorway is being built going to greece so the coast will be not more than an one hour or so from momchilovtsi great for us in the summer.
The people are so friendly and helpful and if you should have any problems they look after you really well.
My 16 year old daughter broke her legs doing trick jumps at about 45 mph, worst thing i have ever seen. The hospital in Smolyan may not look much but the care we got was brilliant, she is up and running about again now,k no problems with the hospital care at all. the doctors there know what they are doing.
Mark I admire your enthusiasm about Pamporovo but must pull you up!!
Building new slopes all the time??? 1 Slope in the last god knows how many years and that went in last season, don't think their are any going in this season(anyone?) Brilliant for skiing? Well it is quite nice and a fantastic resort to learn but I am quite surprised to hear a veteran such as yourself describe it as brilliant.

It offers at best very limited skiing mainly geared to Beginners and early intermediates. Also it has suffered very poor snow fall over the last 3 season's struggling to offer a 3 month season.
240kms of skiing????!!!!! When the Perelik project is complete? Well they have been going on about the Perelik project since I first went in 98 and guess what? It still has not happened! Even if it does start I would be surprised to see 240kms of runs.
Smolyan airport in 5 years?? New one on me I can't see the need for it nor can I see it happening now they have done Plovdiv up. I can't see them spending all that money on Plovdiv then spending loads more on Smolyan.
£15 for lunch with drinks for 4 people????!!!!!!! What did you eat? A Mars bar? I did not even get prices like that in 98.
Sorry I don't mean to sound negative I like Pamporovo and Bulgaria and would be pleased to see some imporvements. But to me your posting sounds like someone who is A. desperately trying to big up the area to fill his house with guest's and B. someone who has swallowed the agents sales pitch hook, line, bait and his/her whole bloody arm!
Mr Snell, you are such a bloody cynic. I get the feeling if Mark was talking about Borovets you would be backing him up to the hilt.
FYI I recently had a meal with four other people and we bought a 3-course dinner for 5 in a restaurant in Momchilovtsi for a total of 50 levs which included beer/drinks.
Just to give you some idea a Zagorka was 1.50 levs and a triple flirt vodka was 0.85 levs. If you would like I can scan the bill and send it to you.

BTW, there is another new project under way for a new hotel at Haydushki Polyani (the Snowboard Park area Momchilovtsi) and expansion of the summer and winter activities.
Andie firstly I have never been to Borovets so I have no idea why you would say that. Secondly he is talking about lunch on the mountain in Pamporovo not in some small town where I know very well you can eat cheaply. And lastly yes I am a cynic when it comes to Bulgaria I will believe it when it is done. And for your info I love Pamporovo but unlike you I don't believe everything that I am told about the resort. Why would they spend millions on a new airport in Smolyan when they have just spent loads doing Plovdiv up? It does not make sense?
