Pamporovo

Was thinking of heading to Pamporovo in the middle of January. I haven't been to the resort in 4/5 years. I always enjoyed the skiing and the hospitality of the locals. Please provide me with some up to date information.
Has the resort developed-any more runs or new ski lifts?
Think the last time I was there they were installing a 6 person chair. Is the Whitehart still the hub? What about the ski school. Is Nicki still in charge and is Spas still one of the instructors?

Does the old lady still come round selling the flowers in the evening?
Looking forward to another trip with friends if the resort is still as good. Is the supermarket still open 24/7. Thanks and Good luck to all.

You're in for a treat Raff. Two runs from the top to Stokitite served by a 6 man chair. Best runs in Pamporovo in my view.

re: Pamporovo

White Hart is not missed to be honest - Hotel bars and small real places are far better!!!!

Not seen the old lady selling flowers sadly but I reckon her lads out doing the hard work nowdsys!!!!

As Nooky says above the Stoykite runs under the new 6 man chair would grace any resort in the world I have ever been to!!!

Get yourself here and enjoy the real bulgaria again rather than the resort pub!!!

PSP - Going home tommo Surprised Sad

Raff - I was watching the web cam in Daks last night - looks like that's the place to be these days.

re: Pamporovo

Thanks SW - We did nip into the White Hart now and again tbh but always felt a little ripped off by it!

I'd agree with SW on Daks too - likely to be the place to be for a session into the night if thats what people are up for!!!

Enjoy All

Phil - the little old lady flower seller was found dead in the woods 2 years ago. Nobody really knows what happened to her, but it appeared to be suspicious. Real shame, she was a harmless old girl and we had many laughs with her over the 20 years we knew her. Sad

Pete I remember around 96/97 being in the old White Hart when they had the strip competition for a pair of skis. The old dear came in with her bucket and one of our lot (25 of us) who was fairly well on handed her a 10,000 lev note. She kept saying change, change to him but in his pissed state he waved her away. The upshot being she handed him the bucket full of flowers and left. Poor old girl.
