Pamporovo

Heading to Pamporovo for first skiing holiday in a couple of weeks. Will probably do a combination of eating out and in as there's 6 of us.

Q1 - are there any supermarkets local?
Q2 - I appreciate eating out will be cheaper than most holiday locations but what's typical for, say, burger and chips?

I am soooo excited!!

Thanks.

re:Pamporovo

In Pamps centre is the Alaska supermarket should be able to knock a basic meal but you should find its cheap enough to eat out every night.
As for eating out on the slopes peter bar is popular or white dog après ski
Several restaurants in town from pizzas to lamb chops all reasonably priced if you staying further out of the centre restaurants will send a minibus to pick you and drop you off.
Enjoy your trip Booze Booze

re:Pamporovo

Supermarket in Pamps is dear for Bulgaria.

If you are flying into Plovdiv and have a tranfer, ask them to stop at Lidl in Assenovgrad to stock up. Just bung them some extra Lev.

Best value for money place to eat is a place called the Danmar. You can get a mixture of traditional and pizza etc for less than 10 Lev pp. Large Beer is 3lev.

Places in middle of Pamps is priced for tourists, nothing too horrendous price wise and food is ok.

Have an apartment here so dont tend to eat ...

Agree the supermarket in Pamps is overpriced - if you can get to a supermarket on your transfer it is much better value. Our place is near mid station so we tend to drive to Bila in Smolyan which is great and very cheap.

On the mountain for food the best in my view is Peters Bar. Home cooked food with a lovely warm log burner you can hangyour kit around whilst you're eating. Although restaurants on Pamporovo mountain now seem much more realistic than what they did a few years ago ...

White dog to finish the day is a must.

Dammar is good and cheap - Gloria Mar the other end of the scale, more expensive but good quality.
