Hey guys.
Looking into booking a ski holiday to Pamps for 2017, I haven't been since 2013 after being a regular for 10 years. Just wondering if anything has changed, any new bars or closed ones?
Id greatly appreciate your advice, or if im better heading to Bankso this time around.
Depends what your looking for as Pamporovo and Bansko are chalk and cheese.
Im sure Pamps lovers will be along soon , but depending on what you want we always find Bansko fits our needs, although we occasionally pop over to see friends in Borovets too , for a night ride and party night ....and a naughty shot lol
Hi, Pamps should have a new town centre bar (fingers crossed) but still has Daks and Plan B as well as the many restaurants and hotel bars. More of a family feel perhaps rather than a party town but still plenty of fun to be had.
Cant say im in the know like many on here...but my thoughts would have been that Pamporovo as a "town/Resort centre" would pretty much have had it once the gondola link to chepelare is in place....common sense would say a proper town would take place as the main base for the resort?
I strongly believe that any link, if it ever happens, would only benefit both resorts. A larger ski area is more appealing to ski tourists and I certainly don't believe Pamporovo would 'have had it' when it expands the ski area. Quite the opposite really. I've skied quite a bit around Europe and in areas like Espace Killy (France) for example, Tignes is thriving despite Val D'Isère being the 'main base' and better known resort. Likewise La Via Lattea (Italy) and The Three Valleys(France) ...

Likewise La Via Lattea (Italy) and The Three Valleys(France) which are comprised of many smaller resorts/villages all linked to create very large ski areas. Everyone benefits. If anything, Pamporovo being at a higher altitude and therefore more snow reliable, would probably remain the more popular with visitors.
So 'The Pub' will be open this season in Pamporovo town center. I would like to wish Rado and Nadya the best of luck with this new venture.
Regarding the linking of the two resorts, Pamporovo PLC are offering free transport between the two resorts this season so the single lift pass will cover both Pamporovo and Mechi Chal (the resort at Chepelare). The runs and lift to link the two resorts are a few years away yet but its a start. Chepelare have all new snow canons in place so should ...
