Pamps 28/12 to 4/1

Just got back myself, Pamps was great, we satyed at Malina Chalets which was nice and warm just a five minute walk from the ski depot and lifts. We had dinner several times in the snack-bar of the village which was very nice.
We hadn't prebooked our ski equipment but we got a fair deal at 90 leva for skis+poles+boots for 6 days which is actually cheaper than the quoted price on this site but were probably of worse quality.

The snow was good but the weather conditions were not great, we only got sunshine on the first day with a bit of rain on the second turning into light/medium snow for the rest of the week. Clouds were low making skiing difficult on the higher slopes. The pistes were not groomed as often as they should have been especially with the snow falling at certain times.
The lifts were not very busy except for New Year's when many Bulgarians came to the resort to ski.
The worst thing was the condition of the roads in the village of Pamporovo. I thought it was actually dangerous, since the streets had not been cleaned at all with places having up to half a meter of snow/ice, combined with the lack of snow chains on most cars/taxis/buses.
The best thing was the skiing the worst thing was the conditions inside the village of Pamporovo.
Other than that, the shopping opportunities were limited as was the choice of restaurants.
Overall it was a very good experience, I am sure we will be doing it again soon (I hope).

PS The halfpipe is not working yet.

The only thing we didnt like about the place was the fact that they didnt change the sheets and towels until we told them off and that they only gave us one roll of toilet paper per day. I dont think you would have any problems if you go skiing every day, if you stay in though you might get a bit cold since the heating doesnt seem to work that well durring the skiing hours.

Breakfast was good and plentyful and the food was tasty and cheap. On average we payed 160 leva for 8 people having dinner with wine. That computes to 10 euro per person which I thought was very cheap.
If you want to go to Pamporovo you have to take a taxi (they arrange it for you if you ask at reception) which costs around 7 leva.
Walking back up after a day of skiing is not the best thing but its only a short distance.

Enjoy...
