Pamps Mid station

It's been a few years since I've been, but have noticed on the cams that there has been a lot of building work going on at the mid station. Have there been many more bars and eateries opened around this area? If so, is it making this area more appealing to the people stopping in accommodation at the mid station? I remember it being quite expensive to taxi back and to to town every night and would be interested if there was now more on offer for evenings around there.
Thanks

Hi Stevie,

There are a few more places around but generally they will shut once skiers have gone. That said the Spider bar remains open a little longer, I wouldn't recommend this though having been ripped off there! We have used a small hotel that has been built for a couple of years now for an evening meal and it was great. We have used a small hotel that has been built for a couple of years now for an evening meal and it was great. I forget the name, started with an M, but if you are skiing down to the mid station and look towards the Black Horse or ticket office, it lays to the right of this further up the hill, friendly family run business. Also the older Monastery complex, 2 I think, opposite the new Alaska 24 hr shop below Monastery 3 has a restaurant set below the building, we have used this several times and it has been good. I believe the Stenata may also still do food in their bar area at the bottom of the green run. There is always the Grand Monastery restaurant, not my favourite though! Will be back out again on 25th so can let you know more after we return on the 3rd Feb if you want. When are you going?

Most probably the Markoni and the Grand Monastery 1 which is opposite Monastery 3 (where the Alaska is).

re: Pamps Mid station

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately we can't make it this season, but we've stayed at the Grand Mon before and loved it. We liked being on the mountain so we didn't have to worry about buses etc in the morning and evening, but the night times got a little samey if we didn't venture into town. Just thought it would be good if a few of the bars stayed open for the evening. Lavinia, it would be great if you could give us an update on your return. Thanks.

The Castle also has a great little bar/restaurant that is only a short walk from the mid station
