Hello all.
Been here since Sunday, after a comical flight out of Manc to Humberside when we landed at humberside, they took us all off the flight to fill up with petrol! surely this could ave been done before we boarded at manc, but heah ho.
We are staying in the hotel Pamporovo, its good in the main, when we had arrived there were no towels in the room which was a pain, but they soon brought them up to the room when we spoke to reception. The food is the restaurant is good, wide selection if only basic, but plenty to keep you going. Snow wise...............
Its not the best to say the least. on Tuesday it was easily 18c and was riding in t shirt and getting a very good tan, it has been drizzling with rain today, and no signs of the temps dropping to anything required for it to snow. If you are coming out next week to learn, you will need some very good insurance, the green run is a slush fest and there are good size stone's and the road showing through! The blue run is in decent nick, as are the reds and the blacks, although in places these are also getting very thin... getting on the 4 man lift, its rocks and grass rather than snow.. All in all is not the best, but alot better than last year by all accounts.
Prices, have gone up when I was last here 2 years ago, but still reasonable, and on the slopes, found a very good place to eat just back on yourselves when you get off the 3 man at the tower, its called ocha holiday, something like that, but we have been paying 56 lev (22 pound ish??)for 4 to eat and have a drink, which is a bargain if I have ever seen one. as a lot of places seem a little more expensive.
The drinking scene is going well still and bj's, white heart and daks are still the places to be, white heart's food menu is amazing, and defo worth a visit.
Oh also, if your wanting lessons privately to ski, get to interski, they have sorted my partner out all week, after she had brought her own ski's which when they saw them had them in stitches, they are going to wall mount them, and gave her 3 day price for hire for 6 days, really are lovely people.
But i hope for anyone coming nest week it snows, or it might be a very poor state for skiing and boarding.. Anyway, moscow, kaminitza to drink, all the best, Rich
Thanks for the report. We're coming out on15th. Unless there's some serious dumps of snow, looks like we'll be horseriding, pubbing it and sunbathing!!!!. Hey ho. Its a holiday after and if we come back with an unexpected tan - how bad's that. Finger's crossed for a final dump of the white stuff. Me and my sister might just turn up in Markony's on the first Sunday in our bikini's and sarongs, complete with shades, sun-cream and bucket and spades for a laugh!
