If someone...ANYONE...would have told us what was going on we wouldn't have minded half so much but it was the fact that we were told zip. Not how long we were going to be waiting, when we were expected to be able to fly. We didnt even get someone saying 'At the moment we haven't a clue what's going on but as soon as we know we'll let you know'. That is all it would have taken to put everyones minds at ease. For me, I could handle it, for the vast amount of families with bored, tired, hungry and thirsty kids, I don't envy them a bit. Nobody on the thomson flight team had a clue what we were doing and quite frankly didnt care, saying - and I quote - 'It's not my problem, take it up with thomson when you get home'.

Hi Laura
Gosh I hadn't realised you had such an awful start the holiday - that and your friend being so poorly too! That journey must have been a nightmare for you. We were lucky in that we were going to be diverted to Thessaloniki but managed to get into Sofia after circling as long as the fuel would allow waiting for fog to clear (a few days before your flights) - it did make me think what we would have done had we been diverted there. Would we just have hired a car and driven up to Pamps, or waited for the airline to get us to Sofia some how. Probably the former and tried to claim on insurance - but even so any diversion or a delay is a pain. Normally compensated by a great ski holiday but sadly, as you said, the lack of snow was a real disappoinment.
Glad to have found you all the same - i was getting funny looks asking everyone if they were called Laura!

re: Pamps Report

What was the problem with all flights being diverted to different airports, was just bad fog?

re: Pamps Report

Funnily enough I've just been told about a typo on my website - apparently I've been advertising BJ's in the lobby of the Perelik hotel! It now says DJ's ! - No wonder it was so popular!!!

We didn't go out to the bars much - mainly to restaurants and then back to the apartment. Maybe saw you at breakfast - I had the 3 kids (no, not for breakfast, Doh!)- one boy permanently on heelies and two girls with long blonde hair.
Don't remember a lime green jacket!

re: Pamps Report

Unfortunately Sofia is very prone to bad fog.
I thought that improvements had been made for this year to airport landing aids to help evert this kind of situation? Seems not to be the case. Confused
