Pamps & BH Air

Just back from the second trip to Pamps, and had another fantastic time. Conditions were great, following a huge snow dump on Monday & Tuesday, which was a welcome relief. Stayed at Mourgavets - not one we will return to but won't spend hours hear slagging it off - its a personal thing! Thought the new White Hart was a great new addition to the Pamps nightlife scene. Ski school was pretty good, had Angel who took me from my basic snowplough thru to parallel skiing.

About the flight from Gatwick last w/e cos I see some one already had a blast at BH Air on here about it. I know a fair amount about aircraft and airline operations, I would like to say that BH Air and its personnel seem to be excellent for a charter airline. Any airline operating into the UK has to meet stringent requirements regarding the ongoing training and conduct of its personnel as well as monitoring of aircrafts maintenance. The Tupolev TU154 has been in service for donkeys years, and is known as a safe and reliable workhorse in use throughout the CIS, Middle East and Far East. Air BHs aircraft are about 20 years old - many airliners in regular use in the USA are older than that. And the Tupolevs have power to spare, as they are designed to take off frm small airfields throughut the former USSR

As far as the 12 hr delay AT gatwick went, it wasn't a great start to the holiday and it would have been nice t have more info available. But BH got a replacement aircraft flown out from Bulgaria as soon as one was available. When you take into account the limitations for crews daily flying hours and take off/landing slots, this is not as straightforward as people seem to think.

I wouldn't hesitate to use Balkan Holdays again, or recommend them to other. All other flights I have taken with them have been puntual and efficient. And they are usually about £100 than other operators!
