Appreciate this has been mentioned a zillion times before but wondered if anyone in BG could add anything to this recent article which seems to suggest the project finally has the green light for 2015.

Merger confirmed and majority owner of "Pamporovo" AD Borislavova. "I am very happy to have support from all of you in tough times, we hope that the government will support the development of the resort and our investments to merge two resorts Pamporovo and Chepelare."
In turn, the Mayor of Chepelare Todor Bozukov said that if the joint effort, we have investors who can make Pamporovo unique place for year-round tourism and I trust that with the support of the state will be able in 2015 to make the biggest ski resort in Bulgaria and the Balkans, connecting Pamporovo and Mechi Chal "said Todor Bozukov.

We have spoken with interested parties, both in associated businesses and the park itself. Although it's accepted that this plan exists, the final possibility of a mega-resort as described is a way off. The opposition to any plans are many, coming from environmentalists, and BG business who feel threatened. We still feel that Pamporovo is the most forward thinking resort in BG at the moment, but lets be honest, it had to be. Failing infrastructure, lack of investment and falling tourist ...

Although it's accepted that this plan exists, the final possibility of a mega-resort as described is a way off. The opposition to any plans are many, coming from environmentalists, and BG business who feel threatened. We still feel that Pamporovo is the most forward thinking resort in BG at the moment, but lets be honest, it had to be. Failing infrastructure, lack of investment and falling tourist numbers was adding up to the whole area falling into disrepair.. Fortunately Ms Borislavova has become the benefactor of Pamporovo, and subsequently Chepalare, has invested heavily and has hopefully pulled Pamps back from the brink.. We are very impressed with their summer programme, and their winter plans look exciting as well. Good luck to all involved. We definitely will be in Pamporovo next summer with already booked guests to hammer the bike park, even considering moving lock, stock and barrel over for the summer season to Pamps or Boro because of Bansko's total lack of foresight in any business plan for the summer, and don't even start me on the winter...
