Pamps at the mo

Arrived in pamps via Cork on Sat. flight was a nightmare delayed for hours and didn't arrive to hotel til 5am and up again at 7 to meet rep and get out on the slopes.

there is no snow at the bottom of the mountain at all. everyone has to walk to the 3 man lift (and it's like glass the whole way there). If you make it that far - you're grand! the snow around the mind station is ok. the snow is very patchy and slushy all over the mountain.

In the shady parts it's very icy and then in the sun it's slushy so all in all quite had to ski on.

the big blue run at down to the button lift has lots of grass patches on it so that takes the good out of what is usually a really good run, the reds are icy and then slushy, icy, slushy etc!

it's quite here at the moment so at least the mountain isn't full of people trying to ski on the same patches!

After all that - so far so good - no injuries yet. skiing is a challenge which is what we're after!!!!!

Anyway if you're heading out here don't worry there is skiing - it's just not as good a previous years!

Enjoy

..... by the way - you can't ski back down the mountain as there is no snow on the lower runs so you have to get the 3 man lift back down at the midstation.

re: Pamps at the mo

Yeah it's ok. we're both intermediate skiers but ice still a killer when it's this bad. today very warm so by 11am had thawed. black runs are closed except for the wall and some reds so bit restricted with what we can do. same slopes every day really. was here last year also so bit disappointed with the snow but that's not something that can be helped. still good skiing on the few slopes that are open so getting some skiing in - would be worse if couldn't get any done at all!!
