Got back last weekend, only just managed to get to write report.

As said previously, great snow. Missed a day's skiing due to storm and blizzard, but that can't be helped anywhere.

Stayed at Mourgavets for first time. Hotel very clean and warm (too warm sometimes in room). Pool facilities surprisingly nice, but water too cool for me.

Hot water at hotel a bit hit and miss, but nothing too dreadful.

Agree with other comments about over-crowding, but hopefully this will be resolved in the future. Main bug-bear for me was the lessons. 16 in a class is NOT acceptable. However, the Inghams ski room staff could not be more helpful, taking skis off you the minute you walked through door, and retrieving / replacing boots from shelves asap. Went with Thomson last year, and found Inghams better, as they at least issued lift passes etc on the transfer coach eleviating long wait on Sunday am.

As to the friendliness of BGs, we actually found people MORE friendly this year than last! Admitedly, prices have gone up - some quite substantially - but it is still very good value for money. Agree wholeheartedly with Allie that the White Hart is sorely missed, but hopefully something will replace it in the future.

Chinese restaurant very good, but meals delivered one at a time! When there's 15 of you, it makes for a very long evening! (Didn't think much of duck or pancakes though.)

On last day we hired an instructor from the ski school next to Snow Shack called Ilia - he was probably the best instructor we have EVER had! Thanks Illia! We skied more on the last day than the whole week put together - and I still have the injuries to prove it! - shoulder, back and knee (but I think knee is more related to old age!)

One of the kids in our crowd got injured, but the medical attention was superb! X-rayed and plastered whilst still up the mountain, and they couldn't have been more attentive.

We took a few beginner friends with us, and they are on at me to book again for next year already, so things can't be that bad. It is a very good resort for beginners and early intermediates, but, like Pete has said, can get boring for good intermediates / advanced skiers.

Final word of warning to parents of teenage boys (or possibly girls) - the CD / DVD shop opposite Mourgavets / Perelik, quite happily sold my 13 year old hard core porn DVDs, which we obviously confiscated immediately (suppose boys will be boys, but that's no excuse).

All in all, we had a great week, and will book again for next year.
