Pamps snow canons

Has Pamps got water this season to run the snow canons and are the snow machines on the long green run back to ski centre 1 going to be used. They have been up for 2 years now and I still don't think they have been used.

I don't know about this season but they were definately working last year cos I got snowed on regularly by them. There is talk that they've built a big water tank next to the Wall to supply them so we'll have to wait and see.

they were working on green run but only when it was cold enough

It was very warm 2 years ago, no snow or canons. Must have been to warm.
Waz there late Jan this year with loads of snow. Guess they didn't need to top up the base when i was there.

We got told they weren't allowed to be used last year because of the housing development down at the reservoir. Plus it needed to be below 0 degrees for the water to freeze when sprayed on the slopes.

We were in Pamps first week of March and by the end of the week going down the green run was more akin to waterskiing than anything else.

Must be -3 to be used, but they dont use them if the forecast say the cold will only last 2-3 days.

Through the rumour mill I heard that the cannons were not being supplied with water because of a dispute with the reservoir owner and the mountain / lift management company. Good to know that some saw them working last year, when I was there in Jan and March didn't see them working though.

Here's hoping that they'll all sorted for this year for when I get there on the 10th Jan
