Pamps to Bansko - how far?

how long would it take in a taxi to get from pamps to Bansko? thinking of spending a few days in Bansko but being told its about a 3 to 4 hour drive... looking at the maps it does not look that much further than what it is to go from Plovdiv to Pamps....dont worry about the taxi fair, thats in hand:}

and............. if you think I am bloody ski-ing all the way to Bansko for a quick kiss then you are correct no point in me trying to get out of this one you have already made up your mind why I need to go to Bansko.... nothing to do with the chocolate and banana pancakes they do there.

It\'s about 3 hours to bansko from pamps, can be up to 4 hours depending whether the roads are clear of snow or not. It\'s not the distance that is the problem but the state of the roads and the mountains between them.
Never skiied pamps but bansko is fantastic and would be worth the drive, especially if the snow is good!!! and you plan to stay a couple of days (people drive down from sofia for a weekend in bansko) come weekdays rather than weekends which are always better, but ...

I went for half a day at Christmas but we had a child in tow so did not get any ski-ing done other than give her a few lessons and sit around drinking hot chocolate.think we are aiming to go to Bansko next year for the week, it sounds like people get converted from Pamps to Bansko though and to be honest I love pamps so not sure I want to be a convert....
also..... obviously depends on the calibre of guys in Bansko.... are they lush like the ones in Pamps????
