Does anyone know any info on this resort, heard it's to have a golf coarse designed by Ian Woosnam! Sounds impressive, my wife and I are looking to buy an appartment in Bulgaria; would this be a sound investment?
the golf course designed by Jan Woosnam, captain of the European Ryders Cup team 2006, si under construction in the area of Bansko in the valley of Razlog. The course is not finish yet, but there are additional 3 in projet in this area. It sounds good as investment. Feel free to contact me on my email. |I will give you more information.
Bye
marco
There is a Bansko web site for owners of various complexes including this one. It gives sound unbiased advice from people who have already bought or are in the process of buying. I think resale is a problem because of so many new builds but if it is long term and for your own use then go for it if the complex is right for you. If you are relying on rental during Ski season then consider proximity to gondola and so on.
Personally, I believe that the Bansko property market is now so over-saturated with thousands of apartments for sale that are, honestly, not going to find buyers. The problem is that the developers have massively over developed in what is really a very small town and, whereas in the beginning of all this development investors could see real potential and value-added investment opportunities, now all the wise investors can see is a disaster waiting to happen i.e. little or no profit as trying ...

The problem is that the developers have massively over developed in what is really a very small town and, whereas in the beginning of all this development investors could see real potential and value-added investment opportunities, now all the wise investors can see is a disaster waiting to happen i.e. little or no profit as trying to sell will be nearly impossible for there are thousands of brand spanking new apartments for sale at exactly the same price.
Also, don't forget that the more people buying apartments etc in Bansko the more crowded and less enjoyable the ski slopes will be as they haven't built any new runs, extended existing runs or build more chair lifts to cope with the massive crowds that will no doubt follow.
I have been visiting Bansko for the last 6yrs as one of my two weeks skiing every year and each year I go back I am sadenned at what has become of Bansko. What use to be a truly fantastic gem of a ski resort and town has now been over-run with greedy developers who, as luck would have it, are probably going to make a loss on their developments as buyers/investors are stupid people and can recognise an investment nightmare when they see one.
Sadly, you are correct in that there seem to be a worrying amount of people who are new to investment risk analysis who fall into the trap of, "wow, what a lovely place and look how cheap everything is. I think I will buy a holiday home hear and make lots of money!"
