For good traditional Bulgarian food head for the mehanas in the side streets near the big church down Pirin Street. Very good and very cheap. For Italian/more western food try the Victoria Restaurant, up past the lift station facing the big Kempinski Hotel, or find the Crown which isn't that far away either, turning left at the crossroads before the lift station and then about the 2nd road to the right. This takes you also close to the Friendly Bar which is lively for drinks, though I have heard a few bad reports recently about the staff. You aren't far away either from the Irish Bar (keep going after u have turned left at the crossroads for about 200m to the Dumonova Hotel-turn left there and about 40m down there on the right, follow signs for The Eagles Nest, it is opposite, down steps below road level), which is a great wee bar for home favorite food (bangers and mash are great!) and good cheap beer. I have never had a problem in the Happy End except that it is a bit expensive-if there is a crowd in it is a good spot for a beer straight off the slopes. I have also seen some great live music in there later on as well-just check your change!
Just a few to get you started, there are dozens of places and everyone who has been will have a fovorite. It depends a lot on where you are staying, up at the gondola end of town or further down towards the old town.
Enjoy.....

re: Places to eat in Bansko???

the old town is the place to eat, better food and a lot cheaper. My favourite is gusoka. Go down Pirin street turn right at the cross roads then first left into the old town Then turn right andyou will see two Mehanas with Pirinsko signs, just past them is another with a coca ccola sign , that is the Gusoka.

Yafata is good right in the center, it is expensive.but go on a monday as everything is half price. That makes it very reasonable.
