Planning two ski holidays next year.

My wife and I have decided that we are going to have two ski holidays next year. The destination for the first one is already decided, we are going back to the resort in Austria that we skied in this year. 250kms of pistes, 75% covered by snow making equipment, I'm not having a dig at Bulgaria but in skiing terms it just can't compete with that.

However, the destination for our second holiday is still undecided, its probably going to be a last minute deal whereever the snow is good. With that in mine Bulgaria has still got the chance of getting some of my hard earned cash if it steps up to the mark and provides the quality and service that most holiday makers demand. Its fair to say that the Bg resorts have had their fair share of critisism during the season, so lets hope the people that matter take them on board, if they do Bansko could see the return of the Gogs in 2010.
Hope you all have a great summer.

re: Planning two ski holidays next year.

Gogs - I did a last minute holiday in Boro in March this year. Loads of snow, great instructor and had great company in my group (I went on my own so was a little nervous). I can't think of one thing to complain about for the money I paid. Hotel was probably the weakest link in the holiday but knew that when I booked it. The button lift broke down once in the week I was there (quite a few more times when I was there in Jan). In view of the price I paid I didn't mind spending 15 minutes ...

In view of the price I paid I didn't mind spending 15 minutes in a queue whilst they fixed it - we made the best of it. BG will for me remain affordable against the other resorts on offer ( as well as Romania). I am chancing Boro again in Jan 2010 and can't wait to introduce new freinds to it. Of course any improvements will be welcomed! Have a fab summer everyone.

Caroline, that brings back memories of March, the button lift breaking down up top and waiting around for 30 minutes! And I was near the front as well.

It was very funny watching everyone trying to get over the barrier, to go down the long green run to the bottom, into 80cm of powder snow and getting stuck in it!!
