Please Help...

I have just received my ski bag and I'm probably having a blonde moment but in order to fit them in should I close the bindings? If not then what's the best way to store them in there (especially for travel) as the brakes on a scott s10 binding are huge...

Also do i store them sideways or flat and if sideways do I face the bindings inwards or outwards?

Sorry... have never really had the need to think about it before Confused Confused Confused Question

re: Please Help...

Think I may have sussed it... bindings don't keep the brakes off without a boot in anyway duh!!!

Skis together base to base...

correct me if i'm wrong.

Also I bought a 170cm bag but my skis barely fit and they are only 156cm... how does this work, i was hoping for some room to pad up the ends better with towels/socks. Might have to send it bac for the larger size

thanks in advance guys

re: Please Help...

I aint no expert, but I do remember reading it's best not to store skis face to face as it weakens something. I can't remember what it weakens sorry.

re: Please Help...

If your bag aint padded put them in face to face, un lock your bindings, wrap your salopettes and joggers around the bindings, fold a pair of socks into a ball and slide them over each end of skis and pack them. You could also pad them out further with extra socks and clothing. I think your permitted 7kgs for carriage for skis but they dont seem to enforce this.

Defo pad your bindings dont think ski bags get much respect from baggage handlers

re: Please Help...

Put your skis face to face . I usually then slide them into one leg of my salopettes sliding them in as far as i can and then wrap my ski jacket round the other end and then pad my bag out with socks gloves etc. As the ski bags do not get weighed this gives you more allowance in your normal baggage.

Agree with old mate dbut Very Happy

But turn the skis end for end so the bindings are not bulky in one area. Your salopettes should slide all way down ove your skis then, also fit socks over end of skis.

Certainly chucking it down out in Bulgaria at the moment.

re: Please Help...

I always store my skis in the bag face to face, I wrap the bindings in an old towel which has always come in useful to wipe the skis and boots down or use as a doormat on holiday. A pair of old tights makes a great stretchy tie to tie it on.
