Plovdiv V's Sofia

Apart from the transfer time is there any major difference between these two airports

Yes - a big difference.

Sofia is very much an international airport, and although it may not be a Gatwick, it has most facilities required for a smooth and easy transfer.

Plovdiv is an ex military air base and has few facilities. It is convenient especially for Pamporovo, and I much prefer it than a 4 hour treck from Sofia, but it is very basic.
