Ok peeps, the last two flights to Plovdiv have been diverted to Bourgas due to fog. This is just one of those unavoidable things and the air line will get you to your destination eventually but when you are flying with budget airlines you will undoubtedly get a budget service - dont expect someone to come along with refreshments while you sit wondering what is happening. This is just one of those unavoidable things and the air line will get you to your destination eventually but when you are flying with budget airlines you will undoubtedly get a budget service - dont expect someone to come along with refreshments while you sit wondering what is happening. There is very little in the way of food available in the arrival airports so be prepared for the worst and take plenty of food with you. Get your head down on the 5 hour coach journey back to Plovdiv and catch up on some shut eye!
Flights to Sofia can also be affected by fog - sometimes they can be diverted to Plovdiv but sometime to Thessaloniki.
If you have booked transfers, they should be checking incoming flights and will undoubtedly be aware.
Not a pleasant start to your holiday but if you are prepared for the worst it just might help a little.
We were on the Dec 27 10pm flight which was cancelled due to fog and diverted to Bourgas!
Have to say all handled very well. We were informed that buses would be provided to transfer us to Bourgas. at approx 10pm. Buses arrived within 20 mins! Very efficient. Only took 3 1/2hours straight into Bourgas terminal through security and straight on the waiting plane.

This has happened to me before in Salzburg also with Ryanair. Incoming flight diverted, we had to sort ourselves out with new flights, were ever you could get with no help from Ryanair at all on that occasion. So credit where credit is due!
