Does anyone know what the transfer time would be to Borovets, should we have to fly into Greece not Plovdiv?
I'm not worried about it exactly, what will be will be, but with travelling with children I would rather be prepared. I assume we would be told at check in so we could buy drinks etc for the journey airside.
You won't have chance to buy drinks etc before you are put on a bus, but they did have bottles of water and crappy sandwiches for everyone on the buses, it is two hours to Bulgaria from Greece where you will change buses (they won't allow the Bulgarian buses into Greece) when you change there is a shop and a garage with a shop where you can get most things you will need, from there it should take about another 3-4 hours if the driver doesn't get lost (I kid you not).
Don't believe what the reps tell you about travelling times ... don't forget, the reason you're in Greece in the first place is because it's foggy and, as a consequence, travel times are much extended because the drivers can't see, get lost (he wasn't kidding above), need sleep etc.
We were told 5 hours from border to Pamps ... it took us 9
sURELY IT WOULD BE MORE SENSIBLE TO PAY THE ADDITIONAL FLIGHT COST AND FLY TO SOFIA THEREFORE VASTLY REDUCING THE TOTAL TRAVEL TIME & MORE & SKIING TIME
Hi
We booked really early and the flight options were limited- only option was Plovdiv and at that point not much to choose from by the way of UK airports either. Friends booked later with the option of a more local airport and going to Sofia, but when I rang to ask about changing, we would have needed to cancel and rebook at an extra cost of about £500. Needless to say we stuck with the original options. From what I've read Sofia flights can just as easily be diverted to Greece as the ...

Thanks everyone for all the info- better to have some idea of what to expect than not. If it comes to it, the kids will just have to look at it as all part of the adventure.
