Polaris Inn Apartments Bansko - Anyone stayed here?

Hi,

Just booked to stay at the Polaris Inn apartments Bansko, 2 good reviews on trip advisor. Grateful for any feedback comments on the Polaris or guidance.

Having looked at map would question the 80m from Gondola?

Also any recommendations for good food, swift half in the evenings would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry not stayed there but we are at the winslow just a bit further down from the Polaris and there is a cut through where you can ski down to the gondola. Otherwise it is a 5 min walk. Also on your way up from Gondola on right hand side to your apartment there is an irish bar opened last year (unsure if still there). But is good to stop at for a few after a day on the slopes, you can watch everyone come down the ski road. Food not bad either. Look on this site for Pete's recommondations for ...

Hi Mick,
I've stayed at Polaris for the last three years, it's about 400m on foot to the lift station and you are in prime location for some of the best restaurants and bars for sure. The Victoria is right by you and the 'By The Way' is great food and value also (200m from Polaris). For a beer with music and some life 'Harry's Bar' is also just around the corner. You should have a great time and Polaris staff are friendly also, there's free Wi Fi at Lobby Bar and the Pool is great also, ...

Hi Nigel,

Thanks for the info, its always better to have a real personal opinion.

I did ask the tour operator the exam questions but they failed so you might be able to hlep?
Can I take it the apratments have towels?
Do we have to pay for use of pool?
Arriving early hours, it states 24/7 reception it this ture as last time, meet by some Brits working in bansko and had to pay 10 Euro for the pleasure of my key and directions to apartment?

When are you out in Bansko?

Hi Mick,
All towels provided and you do pay for the pool and sauna but it's only about 10Lv (£4) as I recall. The reception is manned 24/7 for sure although they lock the front door after midnight but the reception is right in front of the entrance and the girl/guy will see you arrive. When are you there? they sometimes don't run the lobby bar after the peak season is past (March onwards) but if it's open it's way cheaper than the Hotels and Bars around the gondola. They let you hook up to WiFi and there's a Large screen tv should you need it. There's also a Ski room at reception to save you having to lug your gear upstairs (although the lifts are fine). I'm out on the 15th Mar - 22 Mar with some mates and can't wait as always, is this your first trip to Bansko?

Hi Nigel,
Tothanks for info. Out in Bansko 14-20 March with son and his girlfriend. Second time here, last-minute thing. Would be good to ski with a group as they both are on the darkside on boards. Son professional Nat improving. Have looked at Victoria menu online and getting hungry. Who have you got your transfer booked with?

No problem Mick, we arrive mid afternoon on the 15th. Iam am average skier, one of my mates is advanced and the other mate is improver so hopefully you'll be able to ski with at least one of us. We reckon we will probably free Ski in the mornin and then meet up after lunch and generally 'Cod' about until we work up a thirst! We use Axeman or Bansko Express for transfers but I must get it booked, keep forgetting! They have both served us well over the years. Roll on March, I'm counting the ...

re: Polaris Inn Apartments Bansko - Anyone stayed here?

Hey guys

Was just reading this post and was wondering whether you had sorted out lift passes/ski hire and if so where did you get it from. I've been looking at a website called skibankso.bg which seems to do quite a good package but not sure of quality of equipment?!

Any help greatly appreciated!

re: Polaris Inn Apartments Bansko - Anyone stayed here?

I use Ulen at the Gondola Station, they are right in the lift building so there's no hassle carrying the gear to the lift and the rooms are all heated and you get discount off your lift pass when you hire your gear and lift pass combined. I find the savings out on the streets are so little it's not worth the hassle. Beware of buying lift passes from external suppliers as they do not include 'on mountain' rescue insurance cover which could be a costly event if you are unlucky and need a ...

Hope that helps
