Poor Pamporovo

Just looking at the webcams you can see how bad things are in Pamps, Bansko and Borovets have some great snow by the looks of things!

Hi Ally

Just back from Pamps and although the web cam shows very poor snow conditions its not very indicative of the real story which is up the mountain. That web cam looks out from the very bottom of the mountain just outside Markony's. We skied loads when we were there it was just limited to the top half of the mountain ending at Spiders at mid-station. I believe it snowing there at the moment - and if its as heavy as expected, then some great skiing will be had at mid to higher ...

Hi Rie,
I know where you are coming from, however I always loved the ski-out at the end of the day, and you can see from the other 2 webcams just how much snow is in Bansko and Borovets now. (I do hope those going this weekend have enough snow to ski on).

I feel very pleased that I never went this year. I am well, and so are the girls. I am very seriously thinking about going to Canada again next year, as all the uncertainty about the snow has put me off BG, I know it is twice the price ...

I feel very pleased that I never went this year. I am well, and so are the girls. I am very seriously thinking about going to Canada again next year, as all the uncertainty about the snow has put me off BG, I know it is twice the price, but at least the snow is guaranteed! (well it should be)

I hope you had a blast regardless, and there were no injuries in the group.

Regards to You Sandy & all your group!

re: Poor Pamporovo

Hi Ally

Glad you are all well.

We went to Borovets this year and had a great time. I have to say that the journey from Sofia to Pamps and the early pick up on the way home have meant that we have swopped allegiancies. We found Boro to be far easier to get to and has a greater choice of ski runs.

I'm off to Canada for the summer, but I'm not sure I can justify spending twice the amount for a week in the winter. Perhaps if the lotto pays out!

re: Poor Pamporovo

Hi Gubby,
Good to hear from you, I hope you and yours are well. Jim and I had a blast last year in Lake Louise, skied 3 different resorts, and loved every minute of it. Great snow with quiet slopes.

Only thing i'd do different, I'd stay in Banff as Lake Louise is a very quiet resort.

All the best mate,

ally
