Popangelov

I see that Popangelov has been fenced off. Are they having an event there, if so what dates? Hopefully not 20th

Dear ski and snowboard friends,

due to the upcoming races and the preparation of the race slope for the European Cup, e.g. Popangelov ski slope will be closed for the period 30th January till 14th February.

Yes they did this a couple of years ago which was a shame as it was a season with not much snow and it was just about the only skiable run. They also have more local/regional competitions which creates a closure but these tend to be for much shorter periods as the prep is not so major. Anyone not so experienced may find using the closed area straight after the 14th may find it a bit difficult.

I was there that year and it was a pain. Not much snow and even less area to ski on, double whammy. Glad to hear it'll be gone by the 20th

surprised its going onto the 20th as the races are 12th and 13th for the Europa Cup. They were going to be Slalom (and some British interest) but they've changed them to GS.

Hi Fraser, Popangelov is only closed 30th Jan to 14th February.
