Have been to Boro for last 5 years and prices has gone up slowly, what is the averge price for a beer this year, last year was 2 - 4 lev depending on where you drank. Also lunch was around 10 - 15 lev at the top of the gondola how does this compare with 2008
any advice?

Just got back from Boro last night.
Stopped in the Hotel Ela, 3 Lev a Pint, average around was 4 and did pay (only once) 5 at the btm of the Gondola!
Pizza was 15 Lev on the mountain and I did get grumbled at a couple of times when I examined the bill!

Bulgarian's seem to be trying to rip tourists off more this year than in previous years..probably due to joining the EU. I agree with Pete that they will price themselves out of the market.
If you want my advice only go to the Alpine bar opposite the Flora. Very cheap and best food in Borovets. Worth going to Blue Bar if you want more choice of ...

In Alpine you can get a 500ml bottle of bear for 1 lv (40p) compared to 4-5lv in most other places.

hi pete..im staying in the hotel ela this year. can you tell what the hotel is like..i heard a rumour it has had a bit of a make-over during the summer..are there still pool tables and is the bar area as cozy as ive heard.
