Hi Kitty, I would really keep on at your insurance company. I've been told by my insurance people that i can cancel with refund if necessary but i'm holding out nearer the time incase my broken bones heal in time.
If not maybe a couple of mornings you could pay for a minder to look after your daughter. They usually take them out on the slopes to build snowmen etc. so you could get a few hours skiing in.

I'm frantically trying to get my broken bones to heal before I go out in 4 weeks time! Really feel for you and your daughter. its bad enough being in pain with the broken bones let alone being fed up at the thought of loosing your holiday.
Hope you get to have a enjoyable holiday.
Ps. just watch the plaster cast on the plane (not trying to scare you, this was a minor problem and doesn't happen to all). I had trouble with the change in cabin pressure. it made my arm swell a bit making the cast tight. Problem went away as soon as i landed but it was a bit painful/achey. Nothing that a couple of ibruprofen couldn't help though.
By top of the arm do you mean above elbow only? if it goes all round any part of the arm ensure it is is not too tight, you should take advice. it could be split and bandaged over the top. if the arm swlls and the cast becomes too tight it is dangerous. Keep the arm elevated and encourage her to wiggle her fingers! If her fingers get numb or pins and needles during the flight tell the stewardess!
One other question if you do go dont forget to tell your insurance company and it is prob best ...

One other question if you do go dont forget to tell your insurance company and it is prob best to pay extra to get her covered for the condion as many dont cover for anything you have declared even though you have been honest and declared them! M and S insurance helped us out.
good luck - hope you get there
No, I mean it doesn't encase the arm, plaster is only on the forearm only, inner wrist area is bandaged round the plaster. She has a good range of movement already (only broke the thing Wednesday) and is getting used to the weight of the plaster.
Insurance company have been informed of everything, I'm waiting on their decision and to be told what doctor's notes we need. If they won't insure her for going then I'll be expecting them to guarantee paying out on cancellation, if they won't ...

Sounds like it should be fine then because the open bandaged side will allow for swelling, hope you get there. But to re itterate just check that they will cover any probs re the arm when you are out there. I declared a medical condition for 2 years presuming that meant it was covered but it wasn't! I now always go with a company that covers declared conitions, bit more expensive but hey what are you likely to have probs with something you have never had before or something you have!
