RIP Gary Moore

Sadly Gary passed away yesterday aged just 58.
I met him in a bar in Yeovil in 1972 when he was touring with Thin Lizzy and he was a real gentleman. He was up there with the greatest guitarists that ever lived in my eyes, and he will be sadly missed by those who remember his brilliance.

I have posted a tribute to him below - take 5 minutes to listen to how great he was.

RIP Gary.

Yeah I was really shocked and saddened to hear this dreadful news too

I was very lucky enough back in 1978 to be sat in watching Rod Argent mixing and putting the finishing touches to his forthcoming album 'Moving Waves' at a recording studio just off Wardour Street in London ....

I was sat on a settee at the back of the mixing room and unbeknown to me this gentleman sat next to me turned and said 'do you have the time on you' I looked and it was Gary Moore!! He had arrived to add a ...

A true legend and probably one of the greatest guitarists that ever reigned. R.I P.

re: RIP Gary Moore

Trust me ... Haha ... The album title was 'Moving Home'
not Waves ..... (I was obviously thinking of Focus)

Must be my age!!!

This album isn't available on DVD so sadly not owning a record player anymore the vinyl record resides in my loft .

I did manage to find the track which I saw Gary recording ... as I say it was an overdub .. He's playing an electric acoustic guitar and you can here the solo from 1m 47 seconds in

For anyone interestd Phil Collins is on ...

Parisian Walkways playing here as I post this, combination of one of the greatest rock guitarists and vocalists at the top of their game in one track. RIP Garry, hope you've found Phil Lynnot and Jimmy Hendrix for a jam session!
