Hi all. My first ever ski-trip. Going with 2 daughters 23 & 20. Flying out on 14th Feb with Monarch to Borovets. 50th birthday pressie to myself. Staying at Samokov. Not sure how much clothing to pack, what to wear for the nightlife? What is the best currency to take and are there places to get money with my plastic (holes in the wall)??? Don't over do it with the clothing - good thermals/skins, 2/3 fleeces, thin socks and ski socks plus outer ski wear.
Evenings are very informal usually jeans/cargoes and teeshirts/tops and sturdy footwear. Nightclub wear - jeans and top.
Take sterling and maybe about £50 max in lev to get you through first few hours. There is a bank in the Samokov and the main hole in the wall is outside the Rila Hotel. Credit ...

B and G how did you know my name? spooky, by all means gatecrash, we have an 80 year young one with us as well, who will give you a run for your money.Timmyt we don't arrive until late Saturday so have one for us.
Kim, going for my 50th as well, but week before you, been before you'll have a ball. Re mobile phone suggested on another thread to get cheap bulgarian sim with free texts and minutes if you have a couple of unlocked phones.

Timmy - Nope, just love the place and been a 'few' times over the years.Not sure if there is a tourist office there though - haven't found it myself. Think there's a small one in Samokov Town with limited opening hours.
