P Pete, what kind of price would you expect to pay for such mad head wear, been looking here and they seem around £20=. Also Pete, I have seen the answer on this site, but cann't find it again so will ask again - can you change £ into Lev's here, I know you cann't take money out of Bulgaria, but can you take it in??
Z - thanks for the warning, I will not have small children point and laugh on my holiday - get enough of that here.........
Mike,
I know i'm not Pete, but we've just ordered £30 - £40 from the travel agents to see us through the first day etc.
Exchange rate appears to be alot less than in Bulgaria.
The rate we have been quoted is approx 2.58 leva to the pound (commision free) and the exchange rate quoted on this site is approx 2.75. But we decided it would be worth it, so that we don't get crushed in the queue at the exchange when we arrive.
Hope this helps.
p.s. I want a silly hat as well, i'm hoping ...

Hiya Mike, and thanks everyone for your answers (I'm getting a bit slow!)
The hats are much much cheaper in Bulgaria, probably about £10 max and a wide choice. I would hang on and get them there.
You can get Lev at most high street travel agents in the UK, but they may have to order it in for you. Allow about a week for this. The rate you get in resort is better, (approx 2.7 to the £) but it is always handy to arrive with some local currency to cover the unexpected on arrival.
Again ...

Again there are exchange desks at the airport on arrival, but you may have to queue for a while as they are busy when planes arrive.
