Recommendations please?!

Which resort do you recommend for 2 adults and 4 kids of 6, 8, 10 and 12? Two older kids accomplished skiers, 2 younger kids both passed 1st badge at ESF school and have no fear. Dad able enough skier, Mum lets the whole team down but does "have a go"!!! Night life not important but nice meals and activities to keep the kids amused in the evening would be a bonus.

Thanks!! Smile

I think Pamporovo is more suitable. There are different kind of slopes and you can skiing from the highest to the lowest point choosing easiest (green) way. You can choose black (hard) pistes of course . Moreover I believe the temperatures in Pamporovo are the highest if you compare them with ones of Bansko and Borovets if you are interested in this Razz

Been to both, Bansko is a real town, much better than Pamps if you are likely to want to eat out.

Skiing v. different: Pamps is purpose built, there's a 10-mins ski bus ride to bottom station, goes via hotels. Bansko is more traditional, but mostly your hotel will have a dedicated bus to the gondola station, then there's a v. new enclosed gondola ride to the snow field, about 15 mins each way (but you can ski down, if you have the stamina:-), included in the lift pass. In both, the pistes are well groomed, but if you are going late in the season I think Pamps snow is likely to last a bit better.

I'm pretty much a novice, but instructors were pretty good in both resorts - if you get a duff 'un, speak to your rep and get a change of group. Skiing not too challenging in either, tbh, but that suits me fine. I'm told by my better half that there's some decent intermediate/black stuff, but not a lot of runs.

For choice, fly to Plovdiv for Pamps (definitely), Sofia for Bansko (marginally better than Plovdiv). Mourgavets gets most votes for hotel in Pamps, or Zora if you like smaller hotels, Perun or Strazhite in Bansko (though the new Kempinski is right by the gondola). Avoid Orphey:-(
