I am booking a holiday for a large group (15-20) for early next year (Jan)
Last year we went to Le Corbier in the French Alps and had a great time, this time i was thinking about somewhere different and though bulgaria might be the place.

What is the biggest resort length of piste wise in bulgaria? Do most have fun parks? And do most have a relatively good night life. In le corbier there was only one good pub and a tiny club, but because there were so many of us we had a great time, so night life isnt so important.
Just looking for some recommendations of resorts as you cant really gather much from the resort info on the site.
Bansko will possibly suit you better, 65Km of pieste not sure longest run think its about 16km, some good skiing at top, almost all the slopes can be reached by chair lift my hubby thought it was one of the best resorts for boarders because of this, extremly cheap for food and booze, night life in centre is resonable also you usually find groups form from this site then meet up out there, dont know about parks though sorry. there was a lot of boarders off pieste and quiet a few runs, hope ...

Each of the Bulgarian resorts hold different challenges, but all are great fun to be in.
Pamporovo and Borovets are quite simular but I believe Pamporovo has the edge just because it also has Chepalare just 10 km away. There you will find the longest black run in Bulgaria and it is mainly only frequented by locals, hence very few queues.

Hi Chris,

Bansko is more upmarket and has some great runs, but possibly 3rd in line for overall nightlife, wheras both Pamporovo and Borovets nightlife is brilliant.
On the downside for Pamporovo, the run most frequented by boarders is the back blue, which is only returnable from via a drag, (unless you go all the way down to the chairlift by the lakes, but this involves some walking and the lift takes 30 minutes to get you back up.)
Whichever you choose, you will have a ball in Bulgaria. No it's not the best in the world for amenities, but it makes up for it 100 times over by it's sheer fun and friendliness.
Bansko had a fun park from March last season as it was built for a competion. It is yet to be decided if they will build from the very start of the new season.
chris, if the skiers are freaks from 9 - 5 then Bulgaria is maybe not the thing to do; but if you all like to do it relaxed, have fun, good afterski and 'dawn is it that late again?' then go for it
