Have seen all the recent notes on renting out apartments. It is worth noting that BH have this absolutely stitched up e.g charging £56 for a lift pass that cost £100 in resort etc.
If you actually work out what BH are charging for some holidays and deduct for the UK flights, transfer etc you will have to actually have to pay people to stay at your place - I've done the calculations!!!!

The real market for owners in Bansko is rich Bulgarians, Greeks, or British people who are prepared to pay a bit more to stay in a bigger, better place.
Until Ryanair etc move in and the prices of lift passes is equalised you cannot compete with BH.
Staying in an apartment is not a cheap option for Brits!!!
good luck to the bulgarians, i hope they get the wages they deserve real soon, i for one think its crap that these lovelly people get a pittance for graffting away and struggle to make ends meet. I'd pay european prices for what they offer.
agreed but I am going to try to amend mine! In any event though you are paying a price for not having to worry about servicing the apartment yourself, getting people in over the colder months so the pipes dont freeze and making enough money to pay the yearly expenses which is all that bothers me. There's no point it sitting empty I don't think and its up to the individual to choose - if they want a four star apartment with a bit of privacy then that a nice touch on a skiing holiday I think. ...

When you're going SC you can eat out aswell and try all the different places without feeling obligated to eat the hotel meal every night..

Totally agree on all points BB...
This situation will change though as more UK based operators start offering Bansko. Also private owners will have more options as more management companies establish in Bansko and competition will have to make BH react..
It is a numbers game, as Bansko becomes even more popular accomadation will be a requirement, in the case of Bansko the majority of the development is in apartments so this will be the direction that the companies will head..

I for my sins was involved in the block purchase of apartment accomadation in the french alps for the largest english tour operator, take it from me, the availability of decent accomadation (clean, well fitted, good position) is not as available as you would think..
I consider Bansko prime, new accomadation, new resort (sort of), plenty of investment in the ski infrastructure, to coin a phrase `up and coming'...
I will be going out this summer with this in mind, with a view to establishing an apartment management company offering an inclusive service to uk based owners.
With this should hopefully allow me if the take-up is enough to approach an airline such as Ryanair to book on-block flights from the uk for the winter season. Obviously transfers would be covered if organised even if it meant leasing our own vehicles, lift passes would be ordered locally and as the company would be Bansko based it would qualify for the discounts as BH does.
All this will take a lot of organising, perhaps a couple of years to establish but i feel the benefits to all would be worth it...
