Got back at the weekend from Borovets, after an amazing week. Was apprehensive at first as had read mixed reviews - but it turned into an amazing holiday and was extremely good value.
We stayed in Hotel Bor - which was lovely and only 2** apparently - It had the best showers I've ever had the pleasure to use. We stayed in Hotel Bor - which was lovely and only 2** apparently - It had the best showers I've ever had the pleasure to use. Bathrooms and rooms were emmaculate - cleaned and beds changed every day, new towels etc... the food wasn't the best but for the price it was more than adequate and filled a hole. The best places we ate were at Katy's Steak House - great steak and great burgers - If it was in London at those prices I'd eat there regularly!
Seemed to spend most evenings in Franco's with the Lovely waitresses (daisy and her freind!) and then onto BuzzBar. The night life was mixed - some nights the whole place seemed dead whilst other nights it was excellent - the last friday people were climbing up and dancing in the rafters of Karaoke bar!! Cocktails in HotSpot were excellent - mixed up by Jimmy..
The Snow was brilliant for the week we were there (although I can't compare to any other resort) Our Snowboard instructor was Eka, who was really nice and taught us well, me and my 2 freinds were on the red and black runs by day 3 and were all confident with all the turns on the steep slopes by day 4. None of us had boarded before. I had a few problems with my bindings for the first two days - two small or coming undone - but once they changed my board I was a happy man.
All in all an exceptional holiday - probably not a very accurate picture of bulgaria - as the coach trip back to Plovdiv in daylight was extermely interesting and it was possibvle to see exactly how poor the rest of the country is. I for one would definately go back.. Although I may be tempted to try Bansko next time as I hear it's the place to go for boarding.resort) Our Snowboard instructor was Eka, who was really nice and taught us well, me and my 2 freinds were on the red and black runs by day 3 and were all confident with all the turns on the steep slopes by day 4. We managed to lose our hotel key - and it only cost 20 levs to replace - which I thought was a bargain.
Thank you Bulgaria. Shout to all the people who were there from 5th -12th. The gorgeous Russian girl in Buzz Bar, the stunning Bulgarian girl I met in Franco's/buzz bar... I was very
P.S. My biggest tip for those new to bulgaria - is to avoid anything with Ham in - Unless you like Spam!
