i am hopefully visiting Bugaria soon, i am after a couple of resorts that people have already visited and there opinions on the obvious like the slopes (board park??), weather, lifts. also on the night life the people and the summer activites.
eventualy me and a mate will be buying a property, if all goes well.
Any help and advice will be greatly apreacianed to get us started.
Cheers andy
Better hurry the snow is disappearing fast. Plenty in Pamporovo for a week or 2 though. So you have already decided on buying a property without visiting the country ! Shrewd Investor
Just back from Bansko. There are lots of appartments going up there and talk of expanding the ski areas.A new road to link Bansko to Sofia is already on the way to cut the transfer time from the present 2.75 hours. I didn't do as much chatting to the locals as Steve C. apparently did but those I did speak with were friendly if not very smiley! The mountain rescue were very efficient for my 10 year old who had a bad fall on the slopes but happily didn't break his leg! Being a nice little town ...

Being a nice little town there is a bit more to the place than Pamps ( visited there 2 and 3 years ago). About the same amount of ski runs at present but Bansko is much newer - lots more well kept toilets for us ladies! and plenty of good quality ski hire. Hardly any queues for lifts but that may be because it was low season and beer at less than 1 lev in some bars.
Hope this gives you some idea,
Little Al.
Cheers little Al, that was just what i was after. i think i'll head out to Bansko may have just missed the season but i'm sure i'll get a good grasp of what it is like and see what is about for the suumer. i hope your little boy is fine and the leg is better. i'll try and let you know how i get on if your info is still on here. if not i don't know if my e-mail shows up. Have a good time in Bulgaria if you're going soon. Bansko still has loads of snow on the upper slopes - only the tops of some piste markers were showing last week. From the webcams (go to www.banskoski.com and click the union flag for the english version) the temperature has dropped enough to hold the snow for some time yet.
Thanks for asking after my lad - he's fine, even got back on his skis before we came home. Couldn't believe he was out of the medical centre x-rayed and bandaged within ...

Thanks for asking after my lad - he's fine, even got back on his skis before we came home. Couldn't believe he was out of the medical centre x-rayed and bandaged within half an hour, just a sprained ankle and bruising. His ski instructor was great, you can't be too careful with kids.
Happy appartment hunting,
Little Al.
