Katys Steak House is great and you can get a huge 16oz steak (if you ask for medium rare, it will be well cooked, so maybe go rare like we did). The Happy Duck is also very good for a range of foods and has live aucustic guitar music. While you are here, try the flaming cocktail, but be warned this is the only drink you will need all night!!!

Franco's do very good pitzzas and again a huge range to choose from.
There are just too many paces to try so I hope this is of help.
Just got back on Saturday from Borovets and stayed in the Samokov. If your looking for a great steak and a bottle of red to start the evening I'd go to Katys Steak house. Its just across from the hotel.
Haven't read the rest of the postings but can definitely recommend Bar Blue... Opposite the Rila down a side street on the right... Eclectic style and ample menu... Fantastic fillet steaks, lovely chicken dishes, no pizza though if you are taking the little ones... Have a good time!
yes it is a real bulgarian restaurant, with draught wine, high quality bottled wine, for the same price as you pay for the basic one in Borovez.
Even give the Tschtschuliga a try, good bulgarian food in one of the oldest and traditional restaurants in the old centre of Bororvez near the Post office.
