Well noone can doubt that there are many buiildings still going up and unfinished. However from my first visit the roads in the town are now all laid i.e. no boulders and massive deep holes & mounts of rubble blocking some roads and most paths. Yes its not been smoothed tarred yet but Id say with all those heavy machinery going along it its not a good idea yet to do so.

Prices. Well Beers were bought between 1.5 - 5 lev, with the 5 lev on the mountain. In town the beers seemed to be around the 1.5-2.5 mark.
Food - Up the mountain a meal for 2 with 2 drinks came to 20 lev with is £8 (so £4 each). In town a 2 cours meal for 2 with many drinks came on average to 35-40lev which is £14.60-£16.70 (or £7.30-£8.30 each).

We saw NO violence or theft what so ever. Every Mehana & bar & shops we went to the staff were very friendly, many encouraged us to share a couple of their home made Rakias.

The Happy end a round of 3 hot chocolates with double rums and 2 500ml beers came to 20levs or £2 each.

We used Intersport (again) and they were great (good old George for those of you who know him - ditto Tommy), ski instrctors managed to get 3 novices to ski blue runs confidently within 3 days fantastic.

Piste conditions - well first 2 days were heavy snow so fantastic. Then 2 days of really hot sun then 2 further of cloudy spells. Clearly the lowerst station started to suffer by day 6 but the rest was fine.

The first lift which takes you to run 6 is not nice first few times for novices but easy on your 3rd go.

It was quiet at night one evening we were the only group in there but didnt mind one bit. (very romantic)

Lucky Bansko - big thumbs up great rooms bathrooms etc really polite and friendly & professional staff great Spa centre too - but didnt manage to use it too much as we were skiing so much .

Will be back for the summer hopefully if I can take the time off otherwise next Ski season.

Roads from Sofia tobansko have moved on so much since my first visit its knocked probably near on 1-1.5hrs off the trip its now easily done in well under 2 hrs.
