Rila Hotel

Hi there, going to Borovets this weekend, staying at Hotel Rila, does anyone know what the accommodation, food etc is like? More importantly, will there be snow?!!!
Thanks

re: Rila Hotel

Dan, stayed at the Rila Last feb, food is ok. The breakfast is very good so if you stuff yourself in the morning you will not need much for lunch. We found eating in the village alot cheaper than on the slopes. we are going back on the 27th to the Rila so can't be too bad!!!!!!
Eating out in the evenings is quite cheap. Drinking in the hotel is alot dearer than in the local bars. You must try the chinese, fantastic!!! As for the snow who knows, Snow cannons will be on full pelt if its cold ...

re: Rila Hotel

Hi Dan,

I stayed at the Rila for the past 2 years. Its not 4* but its clean, so dont expect too much and you wont be disappointed.

As above, breakfast great. We didn't eat in the hotel in the eve as we prefered to eat out and the food in the restaurants is far better.

The bar prices are very expensive!

Overall, remember your going to Bulgaria, not the Alps, and if you dont expect too much you'll be pleasently surprised. I love it!!

re: Rila Hotel

The Rila is a good hotel, clean, warm rooms, food isnt great, breakfast ok but evening meals not so good. No dvd players in the rooms. It cant be beaten for location, right on the slopes. We have stayed there the last 8 years and it is totally fine.
