re: Rila Hotel

Like most Bulgarian Hotels take one star away and you have the Spanish equivalent. RIla is good and right in the centre. For a group of your size it's either the Rila or the Samokov. Both have excellent facilities
You'll have a great time and if the food's not up to your liking then there are plenty of places to eat out at very reasonable prices.

re: Rila Hotel

stay there every year rooms are basic and if your are in a studio room take al your own stuff including kettle and mugs and spoons etc as we have learnt its an ok hotel if you want somewhere to crash out at night and my children were happy with the tv in the room in the eves
the double bed is twin beds pushed together so u get the bit in the middle the heating might not be to how you like it as not to many radiators in each room but its no hassle to put another jumper on if you are ...

the food well that depends on taste as to what you like, my children will eat in the rila but myself and parnter go out to eat and the children eat out again with us as they havent filled up at rila. its a good big hotel int he centre close to pretty much everything has a nightclub and ber etc and good kids arcade swimming pool is ok but there shallow end with children is deeper than our shallow ends here in england, my children struggle abit and certainly couldnt have gone swimming with out an adult even though they can swim but the depth put them off and they lost confidence
hope that helps and will happily answer anything else, mail me if need be oh if 3 of u in a hotel room at rila then its a put up bed but if you are in studio rooms its bunk beds which are ok to sleep on and safe for children with side bars

re: Rila Hotel

its very cheap think less than £1.00 a pint though they dont do pints there as there drinks are bigger the bar int he rila is good but you can get cheaper drinks if you wonder about the large number of bars and find one you like best or try them all

re: Rila Hotel

We found that the average price of a pint of lager was around 60p and the shots/cocktails were amazingly cheap...so going again in 2006 Smile

re: Rila Hotel

Thanks very much for the info on beer/alcohol prices in Bulgaria, we're off ski-ing in jan, heard mixed reviews, but at least it's cheap! As long as there's snow i'll be happy. Take care.
