just read some report on Borovets 05/06 that the Rila has been 'gasified' for new season, stayed there last season ad going again soon - is it any different from last year.

Also has anyone used the new 'easy run' down from the gondala to the village - is it operational yet?

The gondola is open. I went on it twice last week.

I stayed in the Rila last week too. First time so cant compare it to anything else

"Gasified" means you can use both electricity and gas nowadays for cooking, heating etc. Shouldn't matter to the guests that much, but it saves $$$ to the hotel... Booze

Beer has gone up by 60% in the Rila & the easy run back to the village does not yet exist.

Beer is always expensive in the Rila but there are plenty of other places to get a drink at a reasonable price.. Booze
