thanks sam, we are staying at the monastery apartments, not sure where they are or what they are like? the travel agent said they were close to the centre? but not sure how close
got no idea where they are, if you ask the hotel where the perlik is you will find the night life round there. If you get a taxi agree the price before you get in they do have a tendency to hick the prices for tourist, have a good time
The Monastery apartments are at the Studenets ski centre - you are too far away to walk to the centre of Pamps - better start off sweet talking a few taxi drivers!
From the Monestry (Grand & 3) appartments to the town is simple. 5 mins walk to the mid station lift behind spiders (bar) down to Ski Centre 2 (I think) then walk for 5 - 10 mins from the bottom of the lift and your there dead centre.
If your getting your ski gear from the bottom ski centre (1 I think) walk to the front of the Finlandia hotel (2 mins) the buses pick up at 8.45am and 9.15am, although the 8.45 seems to be hit or miss.
Not sure about walking markm - when we were there 2 weeks ago, the streets were so icy and snow-filled that it was hard work just stumbling along the main street for a few yards.
We spent a lot of time in Daks (the Irish bar) and it was good in there. Drinks not too expensive and atmosphere pretty lively. Also, we were billed for every round - so no rip offs!
There was also a good band on in the White Hart - but beware the 'Dragon Lady' down in the toilets - there's NO way you can pee ...
