re: SKI HIRE IN BOROVETS

If you are using a tour operator, it'll be cheeper to hire your stuff through them, order lift passes etc and you'll get them when you arrive.
Otherwise, there are loads of places to hire, Borosport is the main place, but loads of other places do it, you can just walk around and you'll see.
If you use Borosport, (or the place under the main gondola) they've got lots of new equipment this year so if they try and give you rubbish old stuff, just refuse until you get decent stuff.

Lift passes you can buy at various ticket offices, they are found at the bottom of all the main "lifts". 6 day all lift pass is about 260 lev (£100) so cheeper to buy through your tour operator if you are using one!! Otherwise, you can buy half day passes, cheep weekend passes, or just a pass for one of the lifts rather than all of them etc and this can save some cash...
Very Happy
Hope this helps!

re: SKI HIRE IN BOROVETS

At risk of going against what The Stig has said, i would be very wary of booking ski hire and lift passes from the TO unless they can guarentee the prices you pay are less than those you'll pay at the kiosk.

I did that last year and paid over the odds for the lift pass (got screwed both on price and exchange rate from the TO), then when we went to collect our skis we were given old stuff that was barely up to the job. On further investigation we found we'd also been charged about £30 ...

On further investigation we found we'd also been charged about £30 more than if we'd gone direct.

There are plenty of places in Boro to hire from and spending a couple of hours shopping around and speaking to shops is a very good move. Also be assertive of you know what kind of ski you want so you don't get given the old stuff.

re: SKI HIRE IN BOROVETS

No problem SteveCo, i'm just saying it like i've found it!

The TO's that i've used in the past (balkan, inghams etc) charge £75 - £80 for a 6 day lift pass, compared to £100 when i've bought from the lift stations in the resort... but that's just how i've found it.

I've also booked "learn to ski" packages before for about £120 from the TO that's included lift pass, ski hire, tuition etc... they've always said that you can only book this package if you've never skiied before, but it's ...

I don't use a TO anymore, just because i've got my own gear, and don't use ski school, so i now buy my lift passes when i'm in borovets.
Very Happy Cool

Full day all area lift pass (weekdays) 50 lv
Half day (weekdays) 25lv
Full day all area lift pass (saturday or Sunday) 30lv
Half day (sat/sun) 30lv
Yasterbretz Express full day pass 20lv (only available mon - fri)
The other passes they offer aren't worth using, as they're only up and back or one way etc...
