I'm planning a ski holiday to Bulgaria starting approx 10 December (Can I expect reasonable snow conditions mid December?)
family is novice to intermediate skiiers)
IS reasonable English spoken by instructors etc?
Very risky that early in the season, but not out of the question.
Last year was particularly bad and cannot be regarded as the norm, however the snow usually will not fall in significant amounts until late December.
I would suggest that having good skiing conditions by 10th December would be no more than a 30% chance - but who knows what the weather will do these day
8th Dec is international students day and for the last 20 years I cannot recall having good snow on that day and the week after.Maybe 15-20% chanceBut if the temp are low the snow cannons will cover a run or two in each resort appart of Pamp and Vitosha.Be prepared for very noisy partying around this date though.
The lifts wont be working in Borovets, the season doesnt usually start till sat before xmas, and having been in resort the last two years at this time i can tell you they wont be running!!! If theres decent snow the gondola might be running at the weekend, theres just not the demand.
