I have heard that the hire boots are sometimes a little crappy, I have thought about buying a mid range pair that should last me a few seasons, can any one reconmend any good mid range boots?
or are the hire boot not really that bad?
A real newbi question here! Can I take my own boots (if I buy some) and fit them onto hire ski's or do the bindings need to be set up ( is that a big job)?
you need to try try try on as many boots as you can and get the one that fits the best, no good thinking about any unless you are trying them on - you have to buy the one that fits best - and..... always wear them for about an hour before you go ski-ing in case you find problems with the fit - that way you should still be able to exchange them.
best thing would be to go in the UK to a good ski boot fitting shop before you go, and get to know what you are looking for in a good fitting boot
Thanks thats the kind of info that will realy help our holiday.
I had herad about bad fitting hire boots and I will try a load on over here then pick which ones I fancy buying and wait until we are over in Bulgaria!
Any recomendations to a good ski shop in Borovets?
Go to Alex in the Salomon Shop Beside White Magic Bar.
I got a class pair of salomons last week for 80quid.
Tell him that Alan sent you there. His prices are very reasonable and he doesnt bargain - Very good quality stuff though and i would fully recommend buying your own set of boots.
I dont know the model off hand but if you require it i can post it tomorrow
