Sofia 2014 Back on Track
"Sofia is back among the top-four applicant cities for the Winter Olympics in 2014," Mario al-Jeburi, Chairman of the Tourism Agency, said for Standart from Seoul, where he is presenting Bulgaria's winter resorts of Bansko and Borovets at the SportAccord expo. Svetla Otsetova, Deputy Chairperson of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee, Mila Andreeva and Atanas Furnadjiev are also working hard to promote Sofia's bid for the 2014 Olympics.
They have the difficult task to fight negativism about Sofia's bid, spread abroad by some Bulgarian sports leaders. According to Al-Jeburi, one of the most prominent guests at the Bulgarian pavilion was Ed Hula of AroundTheRings.com, who had been traveling with the Olympic delegation to prospective host cities. He gave a high evaluation to Sofia'2014.
Michael Geistlinger, Secretary General of the International Biathlon Union, also said before Mario al-Jeburi that in contrast to the other bidders, Sofia offers two biathlon tracks and that is why the city will for sure remain in the competition after June 22.
Fredi Schmid, Secretary General of the International Skating Union, John Scott, International Director of London'2012, and Paul Henderson, former President of the International Sailing Federation, praised Sofia for its active preparation and vast abilities to host the winter Olympics in 2014.

Sounds good to me. Where did u get that info. I've been looking around but as far as I was aware I thought Sofias bid would bomb and not be shortlisted after June. I just hope your enthusiasm is on the ball!!! I did hear that Bansko was building an all singing all dancing ski slope that would qualify them to join the world cup circuit so that all sounds promising
