The Christmas Eve is one of the most cherished holidays in our country. The hostess serves 12 lean dishes (one for each month of the year) on the festive table. A piece of the ritual round loaf called Christmas "Bogovitsa" (consecrated bread) is put in front of the home iconostasis - this is a gift for the Mother of God, the patroness of all Christian families and their homes.
On December 25, the Christian World celebrates the Nativity of Christ.
