Bulgartabac, the Bulgarian tobacco company assured they have provided enough so retailers would be able to replenish the stores by tomorrow. Only the stores of the big chains, like METRO are the only place where cigarettes could still be found, according to customers. Little shops' owners buy cigarettes in cartons from there because they are given on a special discount.
Spirits also sell like hot cakes. In 2006, the vodkas, rakias and whiskeys will be more expensive due to the increase of the excise labels. A litre of spirits will sell for at least 1.70 levs more in 2006.
