The Sports Minister further said that the ski runs in Bansko, one of the most famous Bulgarian winter resorts, would have to be more accessible if Bulgaria is to be competitive in its bid and that this will require infrastructure improvements in the southwestern part of the country by 2007.
One of the staunchest promoters of Bulgaria's bid has been the Chairman of its Olympic Committee, Ivan Slavkov however he has been in serious trouble with the IOC since last August after the BBC filmed him allegedly discussing how votes could be bought to help influence the 2012 Olympics hosting decision.His IOC membership has since then been frozen on suspicions of corruption. The IOC general assembly session due to be held in Singapore in July will have a final say on his fate.

To the point, after recent visit to Bansko heard rumours of building permissions being revoked limiting the expansion of the area. Have been unable to confirm or deny since my return. Have you any info regarding the subject, i know you have your ways of uncovering the truth...

Hi Steve c,this is my first info after the game (yes, no, maybe) with 2012!
I'll keep my eyes&ears open and throw some stones here and there..
If this is 'going to be' we can open a medical-massage-sport-salon for all the sportsmen & women to get ready to do their thing! Ofcourse with a healthy sportsbar!
Afterwards for the local hero's and tourists..
